A music workshop for teachers which explores how to make the most of recorder playing in school, using material from the best-selling series Recorder from the Beginning.
There is no charge for this course.
This practical course by John Pitts is ideal for teachers who either do some recorder work already, or have some knowledge of music notation and want to find out how to maximise the use of recorders in their schools. John will introduce a number of topics using some of his published works to demonstrate a whole range of techniques and ideas. The group will be invited and encouraged to participate.
Topics to be covered will usually include:
1. repertoire, including rounds, duets, pops, shows, blues, classical and traditional items, ideal for class use, concerts, festivals and Christmas
2. how to integrate recorder playing with classroom singing and instrumental activities
3. exploring different types of accompaniment including pitched and unpitched percussion, use of ostinatos, pentatonic material and chime-bar chords
4. engaging in ‘Wider Opportunities’, and music teaching in the National Curriculum.
5. beginners, starting a group, using the basic tutor books plus CD’s
Participants are asked to bring their own recorders (various sizes recorders are welcome), and one / two handy classroom instruments where possible.

- 各種不同類型的曲目，包括輪奏、二重奏、流行音樂、音樂劇、藍調、古典及傳統樂曲，適用於課堂、音樂會、音樂節及聖誕節

(主講者會因應不同地區需要及講座時間而稍作修改)
參加者請帶備直笛 (歡迎帶備不同音高的直笛)，與及一至兩件輕巧的課室樂器，在工作坊參與活動。

About John Pitts
John Pitts’ series Recorder from the Beginning has sold over 3 million copies world-wide! The revised and full-colour edition of the 3 beginner books with new CD’s and Teacher Books will feature in some of the course.
